Memory Knots by the Kor River

Sculptural Handbags

Inspired by childhood memories of the Kor River near Persepolis, this sculptural handbag recalls the tied fabric bundles, nomadic vessels, and folded garments once carried across village landscapes and riverbanks. The knotted corners hold the softness of hand-touched memory, while layers of wool merge like earth, water, shadow, and dried river paths shaped by time. Created through wet felting and intuitive folding, the piece moves between object, vessel, and remembered landscape carrying within it traces of Zagros mountains, migration, and the quiet intimacy of home.
