Sculptural Handbags

A Textile Signature

Shiraz Bouclé is an original hand crocheted textile developed in my Hamburg studio.

It is created by combining carefully selected bouclé, mohair and textured yarns into richly layered surfaces that cannot be reproduced by industrial weaving or knitting. Every length grows intuitively as colours, fibres and textures meet each other stitch by stitch.

Inspired by the colours of Shiraz, gardens after rain, old Persian textiles and contemporary material exploration, Shiraz Bouclé celebrates irregularity rather than perfection.

Each piece is unique.

No two sections are ever identical.

Material Language

The character of Shiraz Bouclé comes from the dialogue between different fibres.

Soft bouclé curls create volume.

Fine mohair produces a subtle halo.

Twisted and textured yarns introduce rhythm, depth and movement.

Instead of hiding these differences, they are allowed to coexist, creating a surface that changes with light, touch and distance.

Developed for Objects

Rather than being made as fabric by the metre, Shiraz Bouclé is developed specifically for three dimensional objects.

It becomes handbags.

Purses.

Wearable accessories.

Soft sculptural forms.

Interior objects.

Each design begins with the textile itself rather than forcing the textile to fit a predetermined pattern.

Slow Textile Practice

Every centimetre is crocheted by hand.

No machines.

No repetition.

No production line.

The work develops slowly, allowing colour relationships and texture to evolve naturally during the making process.

This process means every object carries its own visual rhythm and cannot be exactly recreated.

An Evolving Collection

Shiraz Bouclé is not a fixed pattern.

It is an ongoing family of textiles.

Some versions are light and airy.

Others become dense, earthy and architectural.

Some are inspired by flowering gardens.

Others recall weathered stone, autumn landscapes or painted walls.

Each variation belongs to the same textile language while remaining entirely individual.
